
GES competed in Battle of the Books yesterday. This year GES sent 3 teams to compete with one of our teams placing 2nd out of 28 teams! A big thank you to Elliott and Zoe who volunteered to help coach our teams and to Edith who helped the team by creating posters!

Mr. Vos's 4th grade and Miss Lindsey's Pre-School classes made and delivered May Day baskets to all of the GES faculty and staff members. It brought a smile to many faces today :)











Kindness Club members spent their last meeting sending encouraging words, friendship bracelets, and stuffed animals to students in surrounding districts that were affected by last week’s tornados.








Mrs. Lindsey’s Preschool classes had their monthly guidance lesson with Mrs. LaMountain. They ended with a group hug! They love their time with her!



Each year, the 4th and 5th graders at Gretna Elementary School are given the opportunity to participate in our school musical. This year our performance of Finding Nemo Kids will be on Thursday, May 2 at 6:30 PM! We hope to see you there!

The 3rd graders had a fun week at GES! They went on a bus tour with our superintendent, Mr. Lightle, to learn about the history of Gretna and got to see Gretna High School's performance of Beauty and the Beast!






Gretna Elementary preschool classes all attended the Gretna Children's Library today for a field trip! They had a great time!

Mr. Vos’s 4th grade class is studying land features in science. Using a mixture of flour, salt, and water, they created geographical features of the state of California! Then they painted to show the elevation changes in the state.







Students in Mrs. Kudlacek’s 4th grade class learned about teamwork during their puzzle building time yesterday!

Mrs. Kudlacek's, Mrs. Francois's, and Ms. Snyder's class had a glow day for math review today! They practiced all their 4th grade math concepts and are ready to “show what they glow” on NSCAS next week!











Mrs. Mallory's AM & PM preschool classes took a field trip to the Gretna Fire Museum! They then walked to Peterson Park to play! Not much can beat a day filled with fire trucks and parks!
